Man's Secret Santa Legacy Lives On

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 21) - Susan Dahl had spent four months homeless in Colorado and just been on a harrowing 10-hour bus trip through sleet and snow. Hungry and broke, all she wanted to do was get back to family in Minnesota.

That's when a tall man in a red coat and red hat sat next to her at the downtown bus station, talked to her quietly and then slipped her $100 on that recent December afternoon.

A man known as Secret Santa gives a child a $20 bill at a thrift store Dec. 11 in Kansas City, Mo. He works anonymously, keeping alive a tradition begun by a friend who gave away more than $1.3 million over 26 years.

The man was doing the work of Larry Stewart, Kansas City's original Secret Santa who anonymously wandered city streets doling out $100 bills to anyone who looked like they needed it. Stewart died of cancer at age 58 earlier this year. But his legacy lives on.

"He said `Here's a $100 bill ... and this is in memory of Larry Stewart,'" said Dahl, 56.

Over about a quarter century, Stewart quietly gave out more than $1.3 million to people in laundromats, diners, bus stations, shelters and thrift stores, saying it was his way of giving back at Christmas for all the wealth and generosity he had received in his lifetime.

For years, Stewart did not want his name known or want thanks or applause, but last December he acknowledged who he was and used his last few months while battling cancer to press his message of kindness toward others. He even trained some friends in the ways of Secret Santa.

This Christmas, a friend who told Stewart in the hospital that he would carry on for him is out on the streets, handing out $100 bills, each one stamped with "Larry Stewart, Secret Santa."

Between Kansas City and several other cities this Christmas, the new Secret Santa will give away $75,000 of his own money, mostly in $100 bills.

"I didn't want to be a Secret Santa," said the man, a business consultant who lives in the Kansas City area. "I wanted to give Larry money. But last year, he said I had to hand it out myself. So I did, and I got hooked."

This new Secret Santa talks about Larry Stewart to just about everyone he encounters. "Have you ever heard of a man named Larry Stewart?" he asks before handing out $100 or more.

Depending on who he's talking to, the new Secret Santa might say Stewart was a man who believed in making people happy by giving them money they didn't have to ask for, apply for or wait in line for.

"There was this fella named Larry Stewart," he tells a man in the bus station. "He was an old friend of mine. He was called Secret Santa, and every year he would find a few people who might need a little money and he would ask that you pass on the kindness."

People respond differently to the gesture. Some cry. Some scream. A rare few even say "No thanks."

Others take the money and offer their own gifts. like Robert Young, who was homeless and had only 20 cents in his pocket. When Secret Santa gave him $200, Young, 50, took out an old notebook and ripped out a song he had written.

"It's yours now," he told Secret Santa, who thanked Young, and carefully tucked the pages into his pocket.

The new Secret Santa has also started a Web site, and is trying to recruit other Secret Santas across the country. "Larry's dream was for a Secret Santa in every city," Kansas City's Santa said.

There are now a couple apprentices, with more candidates turning up all the time. But, he says, you don't have to be willing to hand out money to be a Secret Santa.

"Anyone can be a Secret Santa," he says. "You don't have to give away $100. You can give away kindnes. Help someone."

Is time in our way?
As a collective mind we have (for the most part) been taught that time is an important factor as is action and of course endurance. Time has been used as a means to an end and has literally aged man into thinking that time counts and that life is about death.
Teacher's of The Law of Attraction as far back as it can be found tell us that time is not anything but a mental construct. So is time in our way?
Joseph Murphy in his book "Peace Within YourSelf" says:


"The Inner Voice is constantly urging man to go forward to do, to be, and to have."


What if creation really is as easy as an idea that is;


"we ask and it is given"
NOW.

A thought, a simple thought delivered by the Universal Mind, out-pictured into our world Now, not tomorrow or when the time is right, but now.
If time 'is not' then what are we waiting for? Stop postponing your fulfillment. Stop acting as if you need to postpone your fulfillment and simply allow your ideas to become things. Make them apparent now.
Is time in our way? I'd say it is. The time is Now to make our dreams a reality. Put your mind where you desire them to be and make time 'no-thing' at all.

A Question from The Heart:

Did you ever just sit and think for a moment what gifts you have given to your world? How much you gave and how much you've taken? I mean really just sat and did a personal inventory on what you have given to your world so far?

An inventory that comes from the heart - Free of personal judgement - Honest and innocent - fearlessly devouring the idea and coming up with a balance sheet of just how much you have given in love and given in fear?

Have you ever just wondered just how much you have in your private Universal bank? All the credits and debits considered....Did you ever wonder what is awaiting your acceptance in the Universal Bank?

Have you ever really looked at how much love have you given away? How about kindness...and all that truly come from one who is Truly Wealthy because of their self-less acts of kindness...???

How about the gifts that come from private motives - the ones that you give to get. What about the gifts of heartache that come from judging another for something you think they might have done to take away your peace or your prize possession/s? What about giving because you wanted friendship? or Love?

Did you ever just sit and know that you create everything in your life and that no-thing that ever happened or will ever happen is by chance - That on some level of being you made it all happen - Big pill to swallow eh!?

Did you ever just sit and know that the feeling that had been gnawing at you had actualized in a love one as a sickness or accident? Or how about seeing a dream you had for a friend manifest and know it was your intention that brought it about for them? Very very powerful moment it is - I can tell you that when I first came to this awareness it was one of the most mind shattering experiences I ever had - To know without a shadow of a doubt that all in my world was from my ideas and feelings combined and that most of what I realized I was unconscious to before that moment. A huge wake up call for me - I knew I had to become more conscious of the thoughts I allowed to reside in my Mind and the feelings that empowered these thoughts had to be more orchestrated through me consciously. The experience was bitter sweet for I began to see how much I made happen by default. I call this vicarious manifestation. To be and to not see that to be was creating what I didn't want - I immediately got a grip on my thinking and began to re-align my thoughts and do exercises to release that which was not congruent with I called positive outcome. I then began re-training my mind and allowing only thoughts and ideas that would affect my world in positive ways.

The mind is the creator of the world and I have come to know that I AM the product and the seller and the buyer and the investor - I AM it - I no longer seek and do not find - My Answers are within me - My riches are within me - as I AM Is as my world becomes.

Did you ever just sit back and feel the riches that come from knowing that your entire life has been about giving with no other goal in mind but to follow your heart and know that within you you had the power to enlighten people with your love simply by giving from your heart as you would wish to receive?

I have - and I can tell you that I have never been more pleased in any moment of contemplation - As I sat and I saw just how much Love I had given away in my life in the name of brotherhood - This reflection actually brought me to a place of such inner peace for I knew that I was in for nothing but Gorgeous moments because of the life I had lived. Always giving and empowering others to go for their dreams and crying in joy when they had reached their personal goals. What could be richer that to sit and be still and to know that all is wonderful. Every spiritual path teaches this and says this is the ultimate state of consciousness - To be still and Know Peace - wow!!!!

I was guided to share this idea with you and Intend that it will bring all that read it to a place of contemplation where One can realign their life now - In this moment where they can re-design their intentions and only Give to Give - As we do the Giving comes back full circle - Good returns as does not good.

Remember every time you are suspicious of another you are actually calling in what is not peaceful and loving - What we sow IS what we reap....

I know none of this is new to us BUT our worlds are dramatically changing and we are the harbingers of this great change - We are the Teachers of Teachers - Power can harm our mission - Love will overcome all greed and all darkness -

We are all joined - Love is the only way.
